On 05/03/12 at approximately 3:16 PM the San Luis Obispo Police Department received a 911 call regarding a male subject exiting Golden 1 Credit Union at 852 Foothill Blvd., with a gun and bag. Bank employees stated at approximately 3:15 PM a Black or dark Hispanic male entered Golden 1 Credit Union carrying a handgun and told everyone in the bank to get on the ground. The suspect then handed a plastic bag to one of the bank employees and told him to place money in the bag. The suspect then exited the bank and was last seen running northbound from Golden 1 Credit Union.

This past week the San Luis Obispo Police Department met with a forensic sketch artist. The forensic sketch artist worked with one of the eyewitnesses who viewed the suspect running from the area of Golden 1 Credit Union. A copy of the sketch is attached with this press release.

Witnesses described the suspect as a Black or dark Hispanic male, approximately 5’9” tall, with a stocky build. The suspect was described wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, jeans, blue tennis shoes and had a dark shirt or bandanna partially covering his face. One witnesses observed a tattoo on his left hand, of the letters “LA”.

The robbery is still under investigation. Anyone with information or recognizing the subject depicted in the sketch, is encouraged to call the San Luis Obispo Police Department at 781-7312, the FBI at 310-996-3999 or Crime Stoppers at 549-7867.  You can also text your tip to Crime Stoppers by texting "SLOTIPS plus your message" to CRIMES (274637) or submit your tip through this website.
